Anyone take Entocort?

Was wondering if anyone has any experience with Entocort EC. I've been taking it for a couple of months now. I have been experiencing lots of leg cramps. Lately I've also started having muscle cramps in my feet, lower back and ribs. My GI doesn't seem to think it is related but the timing is a bit too much for coincidence.:shifty:

I never had any side effects with it. Although long term use can cause similar side effects that Prednisone gives. Have your GP try to rule out all other possibilities and have a full blood panel done to see if anything pops up. There are lots of things that can cause those issues you mentioned (even Crohn's itself). So if your GI is too busy. hit up your GP whenever possible.

I had a lot of problems with it, mainly that it did not work. I experienced a bunch of side effects too: filling/roundness in my face, more stomach cramps, and rash. It did not work out at all.

LynE I also have similar symptoms and I just stopped Endocort a few days ago, how long did it take for your filling in your face and rash to go away?


And Micromidget my legs seem to go numb faster than they used too and I've experienced some tenderness in my hip flexors.

Oh dear, it took about a month for the "moon face" to go away, the rash went away by the end of two weeks. But about a week after the month I went off Endocort I started up on Imuran, and that gave me even worse moon face, right at Prom time xD I was on Prednisone the entire time for both as well, slowly weaning off.

Was most likely the Prednisones' fault for the moon face you had LynE. Even while weaning the moon face takes its time to go away. You have to take Entocort long term for it to start acting like prednisone but its never as bad as Prednisone. I haven't heard of Imuran causing moon face but it does mention that swelling of the face is more of an allergic reaction http://www.medicinenet.com/azathioprine-oral/page2.htm. I've never taken Imuran though.
