Anyone with an internal hernia?

So for the past few weeks any time I use my stomach muscles--laughing, coughing, having a bm, lifting something (orgasm--tmi) etc.., I get this very weird uncomfortable pain on the right side of my abdomen where I have had a resection. It's feels like my insides are twisting and the pressure is really weird. It's like I have to hold my stomach in with my hand to get the feeling to stop. There is nothing bulging in my stomach--where I can see. I have a scar right next to my belly button (from first resection) and the pressure/pain feeling is beneath the scar. I'm just wondering if this could be a hernia that is deep inside... Any advice or ideas? Thanks in advance.

Not sure, I have a small epigastric hernia that's just beneath my skin in between my stomach muscles above my belly button but it doesn't really hurt me. It used to be a bit sore when I would stretch or bend but it's not anymore, I think mine was from a minor op. it's harmless as long as I leave it be.

So it could be?? Maybe get drs opinion?

Terriernut (Misty) has firsthand knowledge on hernias. I'm sure she will be around later today and can help you out with ideas on what to look for.

It could be a hernia developing, yes. It could also be growing scar tissue under there. I would have it checked out one way or the other.

I have a hiatal hernia, so my issues are different. It does sound like what you're experiencing could be a hernia. I just get a lot of pain swallowing and nausea (I also had a stricturing esophagus, so the doc opened that up when he was in there- and I don't know which aspect would cause what). I would definitely get it checked because while a lot of hernias aren't very big deals, some are, and with pain like that you don't know what category you will fall into, you know?
