Finally saw the dr today. She has a small blockage and he ordered a wk of enemas and supositories. We tried 2 enemas this week already but not enough. After her first one she told me how much better she felt. Not sure what she will say once we do this for a week. Her tummy is so full of air and she of course is not eating a whole lot.

He did a panel of lab tests. Can anyone help me understand what they are? He explained he wants to check if her disease is active and see if anything else funky is going on.
XR ABD 1VW Ap supine, Amylase, CRP, ESR, GGT, Lipase, CMP, Celiac panel IgA

I thank you in advance for any help you can give. Not sure what all these mean since new to diagnosis. :eek2:

XR ABD 1VW Ap supine - I think this is an abdominal X-ray with her lying on her back.

Amylase & Lipase - Are pancreatic enzymes. Perhaps being tested to show if she has any pancreatic issues. Pancreatic issues can be an EIM (extra intestinal manifestation) of IBD.

CRP & ESR - These are inflammatory markers. They are not specific to IBD, just to inflammation anywhere in the body. They can also be used, specifically CRP, to gauge the response to treatment.

GGT - One of the tests used for liver function.

CMP - Is a Comprehensive Metabolic Panel. It will test the liver, kidneys, glucose and electrolytes. This is a standard test for anyone having a thorough blood work up.

Celiac panel IgA - This is generally considered the most sensitive blood test for coeliac.

HTH!
