During my appointment with my specialist, I was told I need to have my eyes checked once a year. How can Crohn's disease manifest itself in your eyes?

Hey Ron you can get Iritis which can be really painful ,
you can also develop glaucoma as far as I remember ,
I had iritis a few times and it was really uncomfortable but steroid eyedrops sorted it out quickly .

Uveitis as well
Most recommend
Ibd patients see an Opthamologist (md)
Not an optometrist
Ds sees one every few months

I had uveitis a few years back....now they see me yearly to monitor things! Steroid drops clear it up though

Is Uveitis different from Iritis? I thought they were the same thing. It sounds very unpleasant; I was told if I do get that to head to the nearest eye hospital.

I have raised eye pressures, but so far not a problem. My father has Glaucoma and that gets me an eye test every year, so perhaps it's nothing to do with Crohns in my case.
