I am trying to eat little to no fiber during my flare. It's amazing how some companies with the exact same single ingredient can differ drastically on fiber content. One can say zero while others can say 2-4g of fiber.

I purchased a juice with "0g fiber" and strained it and got lots of pulp. It'd obvious there is fiber in there and it's not straight juice. What gives? Who do I trust?

Unfortunately, you cannot trust the FDA to protect you. The FDA does not serve to protect the public, but rather protects the interests of the Big Food industry. There are all kinds of caveats concerning food labels, and you need to be aware that just because something isn't listed does NOT mean that it isn't an ingredient. Or that the food wasn't processed in or around another ingredient not listed and therefore, may contain traces of something that you would never suspect. One way to be safe is to contact the food manufacturer directly and ask if the ingredient is used in the food. Or you can avoid processed foods altogether and eat whole foods only and make everything from scratch. I realize that you are talking about fiber in this case, and making everything homemade takes a lot of time, but it is safer if you are really trying to avoid something because of a food allergy or intolerance.

It'd sad that there is so much corruption. I do call companies but most of the people I talk to have no idea what they are talking about.
