Hi everyone. I haven't been on the forum for quiet a while but need your help.
Just a quick re-introduction. A year ago I was hospitalized for 2 weeks with intestinal bleeding. I was sent home with alot of prednisone and all of my regular meds with an upped dose of Remicade. I was on bed rest for a few weeks and was able to reach remission for a few months. I switched gastros due to the fact that mine wasn't listening to me when I said I didn't feel well. I live in Maine and they seem hard to come by.
My insurance was covered by MaineCare and once I turned 21 in January, they cancel all coverage unless you're disabled or pregnet. After DHHS turned me down twice for disability coverage, I have had to go for the Maine Medical Free Care system. This covers my Remicade/doctors appointments and procedures. This doesn't cover my medication costs.

Most of my medicines are no more then $30 a month, except my Asacol. I have stopped/slowed taking my Asacol because I fear having to pay $1000 at my Hannaford Pharmacy. I am now becoming ill again and I have no idea what to do. Does anyone know where I can recieve my Asacol at a lower price? Or anything other ideas you may have. I am getting quiet desperate due to the fact that I don't want to end up in the hospital again. Thank you all so much.

I am on 12 pills daily--400mg

Also,
I was in the ER for 10 hours, 2 months ago with extreme pain and was told it were due to a stress-induced flare. I got sent home with 40Mg prednisone and Oxycodon. The pain resided a few weeks later

I too am on asacol 400mg and I know that it can get pretty costly. In the past, I've looked for coupons online through asacol to help with the cost. Unfortunately, since they've introduced asacol hd the regular stuff doesn't have coupons anymore. I'm attatching a couple of websites I'm hoping might help and that you might be able to see if they might work for you. Hope this helps some.

Thank you very much!
Sadly, I had to bring myself to the ER. None stop bathroom trips, vomiting and pain. Surprise! Another flair.
Got sent home with Prednisone and pain pills.

Again, thank you for your reply!

No problem. Glad it helped some. Sad that you had to go to the ER though. These flares really do stink! Sorry for the pun... My current flare has already lasted a year and a half. They finally found where the inflammation is. Hope yours will last quite a bit less than mine. Take care and here's a hope that you'll start feeling better soon.
