Hi all, my dh has been referred to a pedatrician following her weight 19.13lb and height 78.5 and she's 2.5yrs old. The past 2 months she's had diarrhea ranging from watery to paste like with small amounts of blood on 4 occasions. Her appetite has always been poor following stopping breastfeeding for 20 months. So far she's had stool samples taken and I've persisted on this and blood test and the hv and nursery thinks she looks pale. I've done a little research and cd seems a likely cause.....does this sound familiar to your experiences. Thanks in advance Natalie

I have Crohn's myself and was very worried when my now 3 1/2 year old daughter had bloody diarrhea when she was about 6 months old. Turned out she was allergic to eggs and fish. On each occasion of her symptoms, I had eaten eggs the day prior (I was breastfeeding).

You might want to also insist on allergy testing. She may be reacting to something she's eating.

Welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear about your little one not feeling well. These symptoms could indicate IBD, but it could be so many other things as well. Do you have the results of the stool test and bloodwork? Those are good first steps to take. I think a referral to a GI is definitely warranted. Scopes with biopsies are generally what confirm a CD diagnosis. Hang in there, I know it is hard to see your child sick.

Hi guys, thanks for commenting. I do have an update. Her stool samples came back with no viruses and bloods where done yesterday. The doc is testing her for celiac disease, I know this is somewhat similar to crohns. Thanks
