My 5 mth old grandson is showing signs of Crohn's. I've got it had it for 22 years so I know what to look for.
My question is can babies get it that young or am I being a worried granny.
Thanks.

Babies can get crohns
Extremely rare though
Most tend to have allergic colitis
Which basically means they don't tolerate milk or other foods sometimes in their diet or the breastfeeding moms diet .
Once milk is pulled and replaced with milk free breastmilk ( the mom no longer eats milk products or soy etc ) or non milk based formula is given ( neocate elecare etc) then the kiddo heals up and tends to out grow by 1 year old

She's put him on lactose free milk he's a little bit better but still has some symptoms.. I will look into colitis thanks

It's not the lactose but the milk proteins
Most with allergic colitis need a elemental ( amino acid) or soy based formula

Allamentum is what my son was put on. It's very expensive. He had bloody diapers at a month old.

Not sure if we get that one in Australia. But there are other soy milk baby formula brands.. I had my daughter on soy milk when she was a baby (she's now 18) she went well on it.
