Wish me luck.

Update: Still having some moderate Crohn's symptoms. Mild pain. Frequency is still an issue (10-12 times/day).

Entocort and Asacol are keeping things stable, but the Questran isn't working out very well. The stool firms up once, and then the other 8 times it's back to diarrhea.

Very dark greenish diarrhea -- sometimes accompanied by red blood or yellow bile.

Diet remains healthy, although I'm limiting wheat and dairy. Also still anemic.

I'm supposedly due for my yearly colonoscopy in May. That's the plan anyways. Family history of bowel cancer.

Still awaiting a Rheumatogist referral. My physiotherapist is shocked I'm not on a biologic for my arthritis. My serious issues at the moment are mobilty and spinal pain.

Anyway, I'll see how it goes. My Gastro is pretty much all-business, and I have to keep the discussion focussed to make sure my concerns are properly addressed.

Good luck Ed... hope all goes well and you can get onto something that will not only help your crohns but hopefully your arthritis.

I go on the 12th April for my colonoscopy checkup to see how Im going being on no meds. Am a little worried as I have noticed some things starting up again.. especially hip and back pain... Boo!

Im sorry to hear that you have to wait so long to get a referral to see an RA, its sucks when your in so much pain... good luck again buddy. Keep us up to date with what happens.

Hey Ed, I know all about the "all business type" and having a colonoscopy is crucial for persons having bowel cancers or IBD is good at least once a year. I am surprised too that you are not on a biologic or methotrexate at the very least.

How is your quality of life? Your job? Coping mechanism? Please let us know what the Gi says, been a long time coming for this appt.

Good luck Ed, I hope that all goes well for you. It may help you to ensure to get all of your questions in before he/she rushes you out of the office for the next patient.
Take care.

If I have a few concerns when I go to the GI or GP, I write a little checklist and bring it in. That way I dont forget to mention any of them.

Good luck Ed

I was going to suggest a check list too, I always do one
hope you get some answers soon and on the right meds

My General Practitioner is also veering in this direction, although he won't flat out recommend it (overstepping boundaries?).

I'm doing yoga and physiotherapy for the Ankylosing Spondylitis. Mornings are awful for me. In fact, my having to get up several times at night to go to the bathroom is helping keep me mobile, LOL.

Okay...

Guy writes me a prescription for Lomotil and refers me to a dietitican? Huh? As a friend just noted "rabbits don't eat as well as you, Ed."

I've been watching what I eat for 20 years now.

Flabbergasted.

OMG. Doesnt it suck when that happens. I am too shocked to say anything at the time and by the time I have something to say I am already back at home.
