Good Evening, new here, after searching for answers online I came across the is forum.

I've been on Remicade since Feb 2013. At first was great! I think for the past year I have been feeling great for the most part. But sometimes after Remicade I feel really bad. This past time (last Tuesday, the 13th) The last 30 min of infusion, I started having pain all over in my veins that went on for several hours. and since I still haven't felt well, pain all over, my head hurts terribly, very sick to my stomach, elevated heart rate and extremely tired and weak. Last night I was seriously scared of how bad I was feeling. I usually have some version of these symptoms after each infusion, but never the vein pain. Wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi and welcome.

I have no advice. I'm a remicade newbie.
Someone will be along who can help. Sending you my support.

Hmm... doesn't sound like an allergic reaction but some sort of reaction. Did you mention it to your nurse when they were doing the infusion?

No, I should have...kinda third world medical care around here...nurse is good, but there was no dr. on site....Haven't been able to get ahold of a Dr. since then...hoping for Tuesday! Thank you....mostly feel better, have been resting past couple of days but still pain/burning in vein in my neck...anyway, thank you for the support ;-)

If it happens again tell your nurse. My infusion site only has an on call doc but nurses are well trained on reactions and what to do. I know in Canada they have the Bioadvance network which has 24/7 on call nurses who will tell you what if anything you need to do. Do you have anything like that?
