I was diagnosed 7 years ago with Crohn's and just found out that I have a Baker's Yeast Allergy. After researching online, seems like 70% of Crohn's patients have this food sensitivity.
We often hear a lot about Gluten Free but not so much about Baker's Yeast Allergy. Gastros/doctors have never talked about it and I think it's definitely something to bring up and discuss at your next appointment if you're experiencing the typical crohn's stomach symptoms in addition to others I read such as dizziness, anxiety, psoriasis, fatigue, blood pressure drops.
For those who are familiar with Baker's Yeast Allergy... Any suggestions?
I've been eating whole grains every day, I'm relatively healthy in remission, so I guess I'm going to have to cut that right out along with any preservatives. I was surprised to read blackberries and blueberries have it as well! Such healthy fruits....I may have to sneak a blueberry in here and there! They're SO good for you but I guess not so much with a Baker's Yeast Allergy.
Any advice/suggestions/substitutions are appreciated.
Thanks so much and be well!
