Hi all
I was diagnosed with Crohn's 18 years ago following birth of my eldest daughter. First surgery, re section, removal of appendix and abscess.
18 years on I have had a further four lots of surgery, (two resections - luck not to have stoma yet - and two for adhesions). I was on infliximab for several years, but had a very close dice with death (8 abscesses on my liver - I thought I had flu! - it's like that joke when the grave stone reads 'told you I didn't feel well!') After being steriod dependent for over 15 years (don't tollerate most immune supress medication) I am off steroids - Humeria weekly at moment. I also have athritis related to the IBD, at the moment hands are pretty bad. The thing that has led me to the forum is that for the last 8 days I have been covered in an itchy rash (like a heat rash - but since I live in the north of the uk unlikley!) GP (new to our pratctice) has prescribed Ranitidine and Fexofenadine for histime reaction but it is getting no better - driving me nuts - has anyone ever had this related to there Crohn's?

Medication: Humira weekly, Bendroflumethiazide, Ramipril, Fluoxetine, Calcitril, normally Omeprosal (but Ramapril at moment) Ondansetron,Zydol and Champix for the last six weeks (I stopped smoking four weeks ago).

Hi Champ,Im very new to this forum. Just found out I have Crohns about 4months ago. Im on Steroids at the moment . I have had some funny things going on with my body , but no rash. Hope you get some help soon.
Still smoking .. how did you give up ?

Hi shazzy, I have tried to stop smoking soooo many times. This time the Champix is helping - you're meant to not crave as much - and I have to be careful that I don't start feeling sorry for my self - as that is kriptonite to me. Did diagnosis come out of the blue?

Yes Champ ..... I have been Lactose intolerant for about 15 years , then in 2010 marriage break up and I lost a lot of weight and hair . Doctor put it down to stress. Then about 6 months' ago everything I was eating was going straight through me . So Doc told me to get an urgent Colonoscopy ( Before that he always said I was to young even though my dad has has Bowel Cancer ! I have Multiple Terminal ileal erosions , inflammation of Oesophagus. So far allergic to the two Drugs they put me on. Never felt so ill. Its ok to feel sorry for yourself .. sometimes you have to cry : (

Thanks Just hard to get my head around all of this . You must get so frustrated . 18 years is along time . You sound like you have been through so much. So nice to chat with lovely people . I really hope you feel better soon xxxx
