Stevia is a perennial shrub that grows up to 1 m tall and has leaves 2-3 cm long. It belongs to the Aster family, which is indigenous to the northern regions of South America. There are a lot of benefits of using Stevia as a sweetner:
It is a natural sweetner
lowers blood sugar, Blood Pressure
dilates blood vessels
kills bacteris, fungi, viruses
reduces inflammation
Composed of the finest elements of nature, Stevia is 300 times sweeter than Sugar and is packed with a lot of vital health improving ingredients. Stevia and its extracts can be used in cooking or baking a variety of items.

This must be a "seller" in the works, yes I use stevia every day now and have been for months and not finding any benefits yet. Not all brands are created equal. I have tried many and found one that is better tasting. If you have CD or UC you should tell us your story.. users dont come on here with a product to endorse, they tell their stories of their illness....

still wondering if you take more than the 4 mg/kg that WHO says is safe, will the mutegen/carcinogenic hazards kick in?

I think this stuff actually has a greater potential health risk than 2,4D. You needed to exceed 50 mg/kg of body weight to show adverse effects of that.
