I'm looking for recipes for yummy high cal high protein drinks that are well tolerated by people with Crohn's. There must be some that are better tasting than Boost or Ensure and not too pricey? Thanks for your recipes in advance!

Buy a protein powder to suit you from Myprotein website. I usually add a full or half a banana, teaspoon of cocoa powder and if you can tolerate you could add peanut or almond butter or coconut oil for good fats. Lovely taste , great protein content and add banana or oats for carbs

My son also drinks Premier Protein shakes - I buy them at Costco and they are a bit less expensive than Boost.

Boost has a number of recipes on their site for smoothies, cakes, muffins plus more all using Boost shakes. Haven't tried any but would be a way to add protein/vitamins without just drinking the shakes.

Having smelled Boost, I understand why he dislikes it. He definitely doesn't want to bake with it! I think Lulabelle your idea is in the right direction. He doesn't tolerate a lot of bananas but other fruit perhaps, nut butter or coc oil, protein powder sounds like a start.
Hoping to find something easy for him to make.

Yeah that's another ingrediant for a protein shake; coconut milk.

When I was training at the gym, I'd make one up as follows;

1 scoop (70ml scooper) of protein (I was using whey but it was making me feel bloated so I will switch to isolate or vegan).
1 teaspoon of cocoa powder (pure cocoa not drinking choc)
Pinch of cinnamon
Banana
300ml or there abouts of coconut or almond milk.

Substitute banana for whatever you prefer - maybe maple syrup or honey? Manuka honey with UFM of at least 10 for antibacterial benefits.

Tastes very nice indeedy.
