Today the results came back from my biopsies I had last Tuesday during my colonoscopy and everything came back normal. I'm so frustrated and upset because I feel like the doctor is basically just saying I'm making all this up. They found ileitis during the colonoscopy so I don't understand how it can be "normal" on the biopsy. How is inflammation NORMAL??? They called in a prescription for an anti-diarrhea medication, and said I had three refills. No appointment to follow up or anything. Just take the medicine and go on with my life. I'm so upset :( This still does not help me with the pain, naseau, and I still am getting lots of mucus too, not to mention diarrhea. I can't live life like this, I have no life anymore. I can't go anywhere for constant fear of going to the bathroom. I can't do all the things I used to love doing because I have to stop and use the bathroom. This sucks and I don't know where to go from here....

Maybe time for a new doctor? What other tests have you had? CT Scan? MRI? Small bowel follow-through?

no granuloma.

they didn't find any on me until they examined the big chunk of gut and my appendix in a lab. That was after they took it out.

I can appreciate your frustration but hopefully you can get this IBD flair under control for you and you can avoid a Crohn's or UC diagnosis all together.

Have you looked at sites like this? http://www.helpforibs.com/diet/?gclid=CJCY88uCt6ECFQuB5QodJivjAw or other places to learn about lifestyle changes can help you manage the disease from your end?

Ditto! I had Ileitis when first diagnosed and all my test came back negative. I had to change doctors to get a true dx. Dont give up, all test are not conclusive!

Thanks Keona,

GI did say something about how results meant it could be one of many diseases but that the others were all unlikely exept the Crohn's.
I think I was just a bit overwhelmed the day I saw him and didnt take in everything he was saying. Have been saving up my questions for when I see him next.

Lulu - I always take my husband with me because I'm terrible at not soaking in all the info when I meet with docs. Not to mention my GI doc talks terribly fast!

So far I've only had an Upper Gi with small bowel follow through and the colonoscopy. The upper GI was totally normal, all that was seen was a little bit of reflux. I'm thinking of going pack to my GP and seeing what steps he would suggest as far as more tests, different doc, etc? He was the one who originally took action to get me the colonoscopy when other doctors really never seemed to care about my symptoms. Thank you all for your advice and support :)
