hi....anybody know whats best a c-section or natural birth with Crohn's/prolapse/fistula? in what circumstances would the consultant agree to an elective c-section? is this good enough cause? (the above)

Are you getting close to the end of your term and thinking of how you are going to get your baby out? I was dumbfounded at the thought of how something so big would get out of me. Quite frightening and beautiful all wrapped into one. I could have had an elective c-section based on my crohn's disease alone. You should be able to get it approved if that is what you choose after discussing options with your gastro and OB. I personally ended up choosing a natural birth (with an epidural of course...I am not that brave...lol!) as I was in remission, and I don't regret it. I was an awesome experience! Woman have been giving birth that way for thousands upon thousands of years so I felt the most comfort in that method. I am not sure of your faith, but I have to say that actually feeling his soul becoming separate (you can feel even though you aren't in extreme pain) from mine was a incredible blessing I will never forget.
