Graphic pooness here!

So, I went to the toilet earlier and found a load of blood in my underwear. The only problem is, I don't know whether it came from my vagina or bum...

I'm on the pill to regulate my period and i'm only half way through a packet, so I shouldn't be on my period.

I'm in more pain today with stomach and back as well.

Before I actually went for a wee, I wiped my bum and there was blood, then wiped my vagina and there was also blood. Then I wee'd and usually when you're on your period and go for a wee, blood comes out then as well - but the wee was completely clear.

Is it possible that if I bleed from bum, that it trickled down to my vagina or vice versa?

I haven't poo'd today yet either so when I do, i'll have a look and see if it has blood in it. And it can't be from bum being scratched or anything as I haven't poo'd.

About two hours before this toilet incident, I had gone to the toilet and wiped my vagina and there was no blood, but I had wiped my bum and there was blood (I noticed blood on tissue from bum - so I wipe seperately with different pieces of toilet roll as to not infect eachother or mix up which was bleeding)

I told my mum and she said it's just my period and it's my fault for missing the pill loads. My pill packet says i've missed it once this month, and I took it yesterday/day before etc and haven't missed for a while. And occasionally I do miss the pill in other months, but never bleed this much - maybe spotted a bit, but the blood covered the knickers and also looked a bit poo-ey but sometimes blood goes a bit brownish.

Oh so much pain and panic here. Help! :ybatty:

EDIT - Wee'd for the third time in 2 hours, and this time my vagina is basically pooring out with blood. Mum began asking questions and then said it's called 'break through period' where I bleed for no reason. But then I said my bum is spotting a bit when I wipe it, and she's not stuck and confused.

Anyone had their vagina poor with blood for no reason? I guess bleeding from the bum is .. normal for IBD with some people.

And now i'm actually weeing the blood... not like when you wee and on period.. but weeing redness... umm scared.

I'd say make an appointment with your GP if it doesn't clear up (or make more sense) by tomorrow. I wouldn't go freaking yourself out though, it could very easily just be a badly timed period. Occasional bleeding from the backside is a relatively normal for a crohns sufferer, but things differ from individual to individual. Bleeding is not normal for me and one day I bled heaps into the toilet bowel a couple of times. BOY, did I freak out! Went to the doctors straight away only to find out it was probably just a haemoroid and it cleared up a day later. Felt a bit silly, but relieved none-the-less :) . Give it a day to sort itself out - unless you get serious pain (in which case go straight to the doctors or ER). But don't stress :) I'm sure you will be ok.
Sending good luck vibes your way, Fabs.

Urinating blood is bad. Totally abnormal. You should see a Dr asap. Not to add to your fear, but it could be serious.

She said blood was coming from her vagina, Slim, not that she was urinating it. Not sure if you've ever had a period before but there is a lot of blood, and it comes from your vagina... so there is that option.
I'm not saying this isn't something that shouldn't be monitored very carefully and closely with probably a call to the GP too, but lets not stress the girl out before we have to ok?

I know for me, blood doesn't just leak out of my bum, like it would my vagina during a period. The bum blood only comes out when I use the bathroom. So if I had blood in my underwear, I'd assume it was vaginal.

You can try using a tampon, if you're still are bleeding (more than spotting), its probably not from there. I'm not saying to not call the dr, it might just give you more info

Sometimes it can look like you are urinating blood when actually it's just wee getting mixed up with period blood. I would also try using a tampon, then carefully remove all traces of blood, then go for a wee and see if it is now clear. If there's definitely blood in your urine, I would get an emergency appointment r go to a walk in centre.

You can save the rudeness for someone else... Thanks.

I'd take a shower, get completely clean, and then see what happens. That way you can figure out precisely where it's from? It could be from your vagina (maybe breakthrough bleeding), your bum or your urinary tract...
so yeah if it's breakthrough bleeding, that fairly normal, but if it's from anywhere else get in touch with your doctor... it's worrisome. Let us know whats going on!

Thanks everyone. I have a doc appointment on Monday anyway. Mum told me to keep a diary of everything that happens with my body and then we'll show the doctor.

Because i'm not in *loads* of pain, i'll just wait until Monday unless I get into agonies.

It is defo from my vagina, and i'm definately urinating blood.

Monday.. next week? If you are peeing blood you need to call your doc at the very least. It does not matter if it does not hurt it can still be bad news.

When you are bleeding from your bottom, it can be fairly benign. Meaning it could be a hemorrhoid, or a rectal fissure etc. Not usually a big deal.

When you are having blood in your urine, it tends to be more serious. Like kidney stones, bladder infections, with CD it could be a fistulae, or even an abscess. IMO a week is too long to wait, because if it is an infection, it could get nasty quickly.

Do you have a fever? Or any sort of fatigue that is more than normal?

At any rate, I would urge you to call your Dr in the morning to see if you can be seen ASAP. Do you have an Urgent Care facility in your area? Not an emergency room, but somewhere you can go with a less than emergency situation?

Again, I am not trying to strike fear, I just don't want to find out you have something going on that could be progressive.

I agree with Slim-a week is too long with any unexplained bleeding to wait. Talked to my RN sis-in-law and L.A. Fire paramedic bro-in-law, both recommend a trip to the ER, so tests can be run and you can be seen by a doc. Ask for a GI consult as well.

This isn't to freak you out, but I think we can all agree that there is a time to consider immediate treatment, and I know you must be nervous by your posts. Sending hugs! Hang in there, we're all here to support you, and keep us updated tashaliannex! :getwell:

Okay, mum asked if I wanted to go to hospital. I said no, I want to see or speak to a doctor and see what they say. If the doc says go to hospital, I will then go to the hospital, but go from what the doc says.

We called up the doctor and they're going to call me back in a couple of hours and talk to me about everything and decide what to do from there.

Wish me luck!

Okay, the doctor never bothered to call me. We're gonna give her 6 more minutes then try calling her again. But of a bummer but there is probably a good reason

Hey sorry if I seemed rude, I just think sometimes we can freak out about these things before we need too, and the stress doesn't help the situation. But in this case, your right, I misread the post so I apologise, it was my mistake.

Anyways Tasha I really hope you'll be feeling better soon, hope that the antibiotics will have you sorted out quickly.

Got my fingers crossed for you.

Thanks for the apology. :)

Trust me, the last thing I want to do is cause undue stress. For me, stress is a big trigger.

What concerns me is that often, we will minimize our symptoms. There is a myriad of reasons why, the problem is that when we do that, it opens the door to a worsening of our condition. The last thing I want to read is that one of our posters becomes hospitalized because they put off something minor, only to let it become significantly worse due to their denial. She is on meds now, and I hope for her sake, it is something that clears up promptly.
