Tmi i will warn you haha. Recently I've noticed that I get these painful jabs in my bum where the rectal region is. It feels like someone stabbing with a knife on the inside. However I haven't seen any unusually bumps or discharge just the normal hemmies. are hemmies the cause of pain?

I have had this too. No idea what it is. I have a stricture there so I was guessing it was related to that? Just a feels like a quick stab and then nothing.

Basing this on my own experience and nothing more I would get those feelings prior to a fistula appear down there.

I too would get these feelings prior to my fistula appearing down there, its kinda takes your breath away, and you feel like you could leap to the roof and back down again with the sudden pain..

That's the exact feeling! It's so powerful then nothing and will just come and go...so weird. Someone has to know what this could possibly be hmm

Also b/c of my experience with that kind of pain... my first thought is abscess or a forming fistula. You should ask your doc to check for an abscess of some kind, even a tiny one can cause a great deal of sharp pain and then suddenly stop (if its in early stages). Just to be safe, don't wait around too long! An abscess/fistula will grow quickly so the faster you get treatment, the better the outcome will be.

I have also had these feelings. At first I thought it was the hemmie but then 2 small lumps appeared and over a week or so started moving. It turned out to be a fistula. Hope you get to the drs and they can sort it for you.

I've had them...I've also had the same type of sharp pain in th left lower adbomin through my intestine...like the pain traveled up through my intestine and stopped just after the inflammation. Since they come as quickly as they go I don't think much of them and haven't brough them up to my GI

hope your pain gets better. i get a pain in my intestine like someone has a blowtorch and is going ape-sh?t inside me with it on full power. but then i take 4 endones and im in heaven.

i think dose up on endone, it will help with the pain.

luckily, i dont get any funky pains in my ass.

have you tried taking some endone? like, take 2 of themm you wont be too worried about it maybe. i dont know if my advice is much help, but go to your doctor and maybe ask them if youre normal or not. if youre not, then maybe some tests can be done like a colonscopy or operation to check you out. good luck.

My doc gave me some antispasmodics for this (Librax), but as the pain is so unpredictable and short lived in my case, they are essentially useless to me. Sometimes I get it a lot and then go months without. So I just take the meds when I have abdominal cramps. I'm not a big fan of hardcore pain medicine. They usually make me feel worse than the pain does.
I've had lots of tests last year. No evidence of IBD was found, other than some questionable blood test, which isn't evidence enough. Thanks tho.
