Burning bum

i've been having the burning bum for some time now. I;ve only taken steriod enemas so far. Now i'm going to dr. tomorrow to get pills for my colitis. I was wondering, do the pills get rid of the inflammation in rectum or do i use both pills and enema.

Hi Matty! I guess I'm a little confused about the burning. Is it on the inside or the outside? I am having a flare-up and in addition to the oral Pentasa, steriods, and Bentyl, I have Canasa. The Canasa is designed to get rid of the inflammation in the rectum and part of the large intestine. If the burning is on the outside you might need to consult your doctor or try a hemorroid cream.

Sorry- To answer your question, you may end up needing to take the pills, the steriod enema, and a topical ointment.

If we're talking about the outside and/or inside the anus, I tried a number of things which didn't work so my doc has given me Proctosedyl ointment and that does the job

Hey Matty, if I have a burning butt I use Calmoseptine, you can get it at shoppers drugmart but it is behind the counter. Check it out!

I have UC and use Rowasa. It's a retention enema, but not steroids. It is for inflammation. There are pills for inflammation too with the same ingredients as the enema.

I have the same problem. I have been prescribed a number of things for it but nothing seems to help. Is yours all the time or only after a bowel movement?

hello everyone andthanks for replies. I've only tried so far the steriod cream. and its doesn't help. Now its gotten a bit worse, its feels on outside anda little on inside. The outside is red, not rash and burns and inside feels like a sore or something inside. Still not taking any pills just the enemas. The last 2 times i did enemas they constipated me, they never did that before. Should I startthem tonight. I also have another problem added here, for women but i'll mention it. I've had slightly red swollen vagina on one side and it burns. Dr. gave me 3 day canastan, and its still likethat. Don'tknow if 2 are linked together. Its useless to see dr's lhere, the ones i've seen, they don't check you properly. I just don't knowwhat to do. I also have hemmi, but there not bad, they only bleed once. Does the enemas helpwith hemmi's. Also does anyone ever feel a strange feeling right at your anus opening, like something is moving in there.
