Does anyone here get like a burning sensation or a pain feeling at the spot of injection during when you are getting the injection? Ive gotten it my last two injections.

You mean during the infusion? The only time I have any pain or burning is with the benadryl IV.....I don't recall any problems with the Remicade itself...will try to take a note today though - have a 1230pm appointment for my next 'nap'!

My guess is that the catheter is too big for your vein. What size are they using on you? For my first infusion, they used a 24 and it burned quite a bit. So they used a 22 on my second infusion. It felt a lot better. Maybe the same prob for you? Just a thought...

ok - I'm still a bit confused - is it when you are having the needle/catheter inserted? If so - it they are cleaning your arm with alcohol - there may be some still on your arm that is getting in.......

Mine hurt yesterday - but that was because the nurse put the IV in on the top of my wrist where my skin is thicker - then she missed the vein so she had to huunt for it.....

When the wrong size of catheter is being used, it kind of hurts/burns for the entire time that it is in the vein. So if that is what you're experiencing, that could very well be your problem. Or it could be a mild allergic reaction to either the remi itself or even the catheter itself.

I am allergic to latex, so my nurse uses vinyl gloves and paper tape, but I don't know what the catheter is made of. I always have a tiny rash around the injection site for a few days afterwards. Do have a rash from it, too? Or just the burning?

I've never had any pain DURING the infusion (although the injection site is just a little tender for a day or two after). Perhaps they are doing the drip too quickly? Remicade should be administered over the course of at least 2 hours.
