I was given some Buscopan by the doctor before I was diagnosed with Crohn's, it's more for IBS and stomach cramps it says, but I was told to take 2 about half an hour before a meal to stop the pain of the food. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Anyone else tried this and did it work for you?

I have had it on a few occasions but don't find it helps much. But I think it depends what is causing the pain.

Had no buscopan before my breakfast today, no pain at all. Took some before dinner, had to stop eating halfway through because of the pain. So they either occasionally work or don't work at all and it's just a coincidence when I don't get pain after food. This is the trouble with some meds, you don't know whether they're actually working or it's just coincidence, bit like a placebo.
