Busy week for me.

Well last mon afternoon bigtruck knocked out and had a laprascopic nephrectomy, thurs morn drove home not feeling too bad, but boy is my bag giving hell since the op! Constipation at first but now diahorrea and cramps! Hope dirty Harry calms down and regains composure soon. The most interesting thing is the wound sinus on my abdomen which had refused to heal since they drained an abscess in January last closed virtually overnight after surgery. It was initially talked about removing said kidney in 96 as it had been so badly damaged, when they went in to remove it apparently it was a mess stuck to leg and back muscles and very inflamed all around, all this makes makes me wonder was my episode of retro peritoneal sepsis in jan /feb entirely down to the bowel. For the past 16 years I've suffered with intermittent leg groin and back pain which eventually got more frequent but was always put down to the crohns but hey onwards and upwards it can't cause any pain from the hospital skip. Hope everyone doing ok.

Hi Bigtruck
You are doing amazingly well after such recent surgery. I would have thought you
needed a longer hospital stay, but as long as you are OK with it, its far better to get away
from the septic hospital environment for a swift recovery.
You certainly have been through the mill and let's hope you will improve --onward and upward.
With your optimistic outlook I think you will continue to make a good recovery.

Thanks trysha interestingly the surgeon told me in some parts of wales (uk) it is done as a day procedure.

You DROVE home...or your wife drove you home?? Glad you are home safe and sound but I hope you didnt drive that quick after surgery!!!

Bet like all surgeries your poo will be a bit messed up. Hoping it settles down for you!

I drove home, yes just very crampy at the min but improving slowly with some buscopan hopefully another few days and the inners will run smoothly lol after surgery mr doublepoo was blocked at both outlets!! Lol

Yeah feeling pretty good now to be fair, still pretty sore at times at the wound were the kidney left the building! and round the rhs, off to see the bowel surgeon on mon, getting a lot of air locking and cramping behind the "stoma" as it has closed further but we are getting there I'll be like a new man when it's all over lol.
