Hi, I hope someone will know what is going on with my butt.

I have Crohn's mainly in my Ileum and its been going really well for a while. As well as it can go. I am currently off all meds. :dusty:

But I have been having butt pains that I've never had before. Right at the top of my butt where the butt crack starts - right in the middle at the top of the crack. It feels like I'm sitting on a massive bruise. I feel it when I sit, so I'm now perched forward in my chair so I'm not resting any weight on it. I feel it when I stand up from sitting and when I clench my butt cheeks together. It started about a month or so ago and its getting worse. Last night was the first night when I was lying in bed on my side that I felt the pain lying down. It may have been because I spent three hours in the chair at the hair salon that afternoon and the pain was terrible by the end of that time. I'll rather go grey than do that again!

The pain is not moving down into my legs, there is no tingling of anything going on, my usual multiple runs to the loo every day don't seem to make it better or worse. I can't feel a lump, I can't see a lump, so I'm lost as to what it can be.

I wasn't worried about it in the beginning. I can't remember falling or hitting my butt, but I thought I must have just bruised it somehow and it would get better. Except now its getting worse.

Any help would be very gratefully appreciated.

I have a very similar issue. Thought it was hemorrhoids, tried to fix it at home and nope.. Then went to doc who said abscess, and after 7 surgeries, 4 setons, (2 years total) the pain is the same!! Each time they would say "we found a... and that can cause some real pain" I thought "ok great! Finally I can get rid of the butt pain" but it hasn't gone away yet. I think it might be a fissure and it's on the muscle, and every time they "take a look" under anestisia they make it worse. Any gas, pressure, or urge to go #2 is knee bending pain. And it's right at the end or "exit". I would seriously get in to have some imaging done in case it is a fistula and it's building up pressure.

I had that issue a couple of years ago. I ignored it for a few weeks and then decided to get it checked out. The walk in clinic dr said it was a hemmeehoid and gave me some prep h. Didn't seem accurate to me but he's the dr! I knew something was really wrong when i used the prep h and cent burning and fainted. I went to emergency where the doctor took a quick look and immediately tried to do surgery on an abscess and fistula.

Always good to check with a doctor... or two... you never know how serious it could be
