I finished a 10 day course of flagyl a week ago. During the course my stools were looser and I was extremely nauseous, even with zofran. Developed oral thrush..
Well for the first day after I finished, my stools were still loose...the second day formed and I thought phew back to normal. But 3rd day and on loose again but only 1 or 2 times per day. Now today I woke up with the urge to go. And more urges throughout the day with loose stools. The first 2 were like pudding (sorry to be so graphic) the rest were just a slight amount. Almost nothing. And when I go pee a little poo is leaking too. Please note I have had formed BMs for the past 8 years. This only started with antibiotic.
I had c diff 10 Years ago and I am wondering if that's what it is :( can you really get it after 10 day course antibiotics?? I have read horror stories. I do have a kit for stool sample that I will turn in to the lab tomorrow, but they won't have the results in for a few days.

Do you have severe abdominal pain, loss of appetite, blood or pus in your stools? Those are all symptoms--that's why I'm asking.

It's good you are sending in a stool sample. You'll find out and then you can deal with it if and when that happens.

For now, just try to relax. I know it's difficult but you are under enough stress already. Drink plenty of fluids and get nutrients. I hope you feel better soon.

antibiotics are recognized as the prime cause of 80% of cases of c. difficile infections.
4 new studies linked antibiotics use to development of IBD. hoping your case will improve, wish you the best. Fecal Transplants cure antibiotic resistant c diff, keep that in mind through your journey, just in case you need a fecal transplant.

Thanks for the replies!
Jamilea, I only have the cramping sometimes and it's right before I go and not severe. I noticed a drop of blood after wiping but that may be from the fistula. I don't really know what mucus or pus looks like in stool. Throughout most of the day there was just like light yellowish little dollops (ahhh sorry I just don't know how else to describe.)
I took some Imodium tonight but went again an hour later. Then I just took another immodium.
I am just really scared because I have been in remission so long. I don't know if this is Crohn's flare caused from the flagyl, c-diff, or just a bout of D! Thanks again for the support!

Wildbill 52280, thanks for the reply. I am so confused. The antibiotic I took was flagyl which is what they try to treat c-diff with. But it could be the flagyl that causes c-diff too? I have heard about the fecal transplants. That's so amazing. I am going to read the link in your post now!
