Can Cipro Alone Help With A Flareup?

I am undiagnosed at this point but have taken Ciprofloxacin on/off for many years for what I thought were UTIs. I took a low dose for an entire year 5 years ago. I would have the prescription on hand because I had a history of recurrent UTIs so did not always get a culture and sensitivity done when the pain came.

Could the use of Cipro alone calm a Crohn's flareup?

Thanks!

Hi.

I don't know a lot about it. I don't think it works on its own to induce remission but I could be wrong.
It is used in cases of fistualizing and crohns colitis (large bowel crohns).

Thanks DJW. I guess I'm thinking it could have helped some with my symptoms and may have prevented a really bad flare since I had one 8 years ago. Looking fo any clues to help complete the puzzle of getting a diagnosis.

I've been on it post surgery and for fistulas along with flagyl.
