I've been fighting a cold for the past week, but am supposed to start my Humira on Tuesday. Should I wait until my cold passes, or is it okay for me to start?

I'm currently tapering off of 40 mg of Prednisone, and now that I'm at 5 mg, the diarrhea is back in full force and now it's burning (which it never did before), so I was really looking forward to starting the Humira in hopes it would calm things down.

Thanks for any advice given.

I would definitely talk to your doctor before hand. Since Humira suppresses the immune system it might be hard to get rid of your cold

Not an expert since I just started myself, but I was warned not to start with a fever present. Have you taken your temp? You could call the Humira nurse hotline to talk w/ them as well.

No fever. Just a cough, sniffly nose, and scratchy throat. Great idea about calling the Humira nurse line. Thank you.

My guess is that it would be wise to delay until you feel better. I know I have postponed regular doses when I have felt bad.
