Hi
I have bad reflux and ibs. I recently have been having very bad reflux problems (laryngitis, vocal nodules, etc) I also had a virus of some sort.
Today and yesterday I've noticed I have had really bad gas during the day (which never happens and I love also had green poop (completely green). Can the reflux be affecting my stomach or vice versa?
I'm doing a year abroad in a month and I really want to get everything back on track.
Thank you! :ghug:

Reflux can also occur in cases of hernias, partial obstructions, etc. The green could be due to bile. Have you eaten anything out of the ordinary recently? Some foods can stain your stools. If you are going abroad in a year, I think you likely have a lot of testing you need to get taken care of in really short order. While there may be benign causes for this, there are many that aren't so nice. Please get checked before you leave, or make sure there is really good health care wherever you are going.

Hi I have a hiatal hernia and I have not eaten anything out of the ordinary. I recently had a pill cam done and it showed nothing but the hernia.

I know my hernia can cause me discomfort from reflux. Volume of food, type of food, and bowel gas can all contribute to it. Examples - two slices of fresh bread with butter will routinely cause a little reflux and hiccups, and if I have more than three thin slices of cheese I will get reflux and the bowels seem to slow down. These do not in any way cause green stool though.
