Hey guys. Im new here and noticed there was not any threads about using cannabis oil or medical marijuana to help treat crohns or IBD. I can definitely say this plant has been a miracle drug for me. Recently I was hospitalized due to my condition. It was bad. I lost down 25 lbs and was on heavy doses of pain meds for my severe pain. I will spare you the gruesome details. It was then that I found across cannbis oil. An extract of the marijuana plant and began using it right there in the hospital. First dose and I immediately felt relief. That oil saved my life. I am happy to say that I am healthy now. I am not using the oil anymore but I smoke now. It helps with my appetite, nausea, and cramping.

If you have had a similar experience please share!
 
This is different from Crohn's, but I went to school with a girl with severe anxiety and depression, along with extreme menstrual pain. She would cry constantly from mental and physical pain. None of the drugs her doctor gave her were working or would work for one and the other would get worse. She was really close to committing suicide many times. Finally, her doc told her about medical marijuana and she should try it. She did and everything completely changed. She gave a huge presentation to our class about the benefits and her personal story. It was a very touching story and had a few people tearing up. She said it completely changed her life. Love hearing stories like her and yours! Thanks for sharing!
 
I use MJ as well. Doctors have told me that if I didn't I would likely be sicker :( I know if I am out because the bathroom frequency suddenly increases, as well as the pain
 
I haven't tried the oil yet but I'm VERY interested in doing so.
I know a man who has been using it (the so called Rick Simpson Oil) and it was a miracle for him.
Also the quite famous Shona Banda is a huge advocate for it in terms of treating IBD.

I'm curious jthib, where did you get your oil? Do you live in a state/country where MMJ is legal?
 
The Rick Simpson Oil is best to make yourself, that's what Rick Simpson says himself.

In order to try out his 90 day program of healing with the oil you need a pound of MMJ, which you turn into about 60 grams of oil.
The oil seems to be easy to make, the hard thing is to get a whole pound of the material.

I can't find it on Amazon, and I think it would be pretty strange if they sold it there...
 
I have been using Rick Simpson Oil for 36 days and am in the best condition I have been in nearly two years the concentrate can only be found in MMJ states in certain dispensaries. As Arnarp said you need a lot of material to make it because of how concentrated it is.
 
I eat half a milliliter or what would be a rice grain size amount out of a oral dropper every night. It has saved my life and has worked better than any pharmaceutical I was ever on. Do you use it, have ever used it?
 
I just got dixi cbd oil. It comes as a dripper. I guess the instruction said to drop 15 drops onto your tounge. I'll try it out and see how it works. Good stuff, glad mmj has help. It see! Like there never a negative post about mmj.
 
Sounds like you got a tincture oil and it is absorbed sublingually. good stuff!! if it is concentrated enough depending on how much you are flaring you should notice effects within a couple days if not day of.

Yeah there is never a negative comment because it works and once it is widely known perhaps a super concentrated gastrointestinal specific could be created.

It's great that it's working so well for you! With each story like this I hear my urge to try it myself just grows and grows.

I'm really curious, did you buy it from a dispensary or make it yourself?
Where do you live?

In Iceland, where I live, cannabis is illegal in any form so I'd have to hit the streets to get the raw material for the oil, which is both unsafe and amazingly expensive.
I'm seriously thinking about moving temporarily to a place where MMJ is legal and trying it out.
 
Thanks it took a number of scientific articles before I even considered it and once I did I was so shocked to find how effective it was.
I live in NY but go to Law school in Michigan so when I live out here I have access to MMJ which lead to discover Rick Simpson Oil in September

I live in NY but go to Law school in Michigan so when I live out in Michigan I have access to MMJ which lead to my discovery of Rick Simpson Oil. This coming September I will grow and make my own for the first time and we will see how it goes. I would say to try to move to a place that has legal MMJ because getting it off the street and smoking it may not be effective. The reason why it could be not effective is because most street dealers do not care about CBD but THC so you may find a strain from a street dealer with a real high THC but little or no CBD, also smoking it for our condition does very little unless you smoke a lot of it. The best way to use it is through direct ingestion in either a oil, tincture, or edibles though oils and tinctures work best.
 
Sounds amazing man! I've been thinking a lot about growing it myself in Iceland but it's of course illegal (WHY!?) and I'd be taking a big risk by doing it.
And yes that's true, the street stuff is all about the THC and not about the anti-inflammatory CBD. And just WAY too expensive.

Will you be growing indoors?
 
Buy a small indoor grow box and just grow 3 plants for yourself only. I wouldn't go brag to Anyone either about growing it. The oil base I heard isn't illegal and their sites that actually sell them online.
 
Yes I will be growing in doors in a decent size tent. I plan on growing only 6 plants and you would need to find the highest CBD strain you can. I don't know what the laws are in Iceland but I can tell you that legally all the compounds in Cannabis are illegal on a federal govt level here this includes any products derived from them with the exclusion of basic hemp. This being said any oil that can be bought online I would be weary of unless it is from one of the mmj states. The fact is of you can buy it online without checking sources you could be essentially buying flax oil or some other oil which does not have CBD in it and will be ineffective. I agree with F.U though if you are going to take the backdoor route I would recommend either a grow box or a tent where you can easily conceal it. Though I would advise doing anything illegal is probably not the best way to do things especially of you can afford a move to a mmj place.
Sounds kind of ridiculous that those are your only two options but for the moment they are and I wish you luck in what ever decision you chose.
 
I do not like working with oil, even coconut oil. I find it messy.

I prefer tinctures if I am going that route. I just went on a vacation to a place where I could not bring herbs, so I extracted my cannabinoids into alcohol and then infused them back in an agave nectar to turn it into an undetectable "elixir."

As far as carriers go, alcohol is also more effective than oil. A potent extraction will require about 1ml per dose. If administered sublingually (under the tongue), the effects are nearly immediate, just like inhalation.

Either way, cannabinoid therapy is much more effective when ingested rather than smoked or vaporized. Whether you prefer RSO or a tincture, it'll beat inhaling every day.
 
I agree with Francis completely, ingestion is way more effective than inhaling it. I use the oil because its the best available for me. If I could get the alcohol I would. Francis sounds like an awesome elixir I gotta try to make that some time. How long have you been using the oils/tincture for and how effective have they been for you?

F.U. that site is awesome I'm definitely going to contact them to try to get Omarita RX that seems to be the best strain for us. Thanks for showing me that.

I just recently used the cibdex cbd drops original flavor. It's an 1oz bottle and so far it work really well. During my current flare up which was yesterday from the pain. I vape my cbd strain and did half dropper of the cbd oil and Bam woke up this morning pain free.

This cbd oil or any type of CBD strain really does help our problems. :ycool:
