Hey guys do some of you have fitness problems Like I try and workout at home but only last a sew minutes.
I can't seem to get my fitness level back to where it was I had to go to the shops for a bit and do some heay lifting I was only out for about an hour mow I'm home and feel like I'm going to collapse head is foggy hard to concentrate while typing this and heavy breathing.

I feel like all the bits off effort I try and put into getting my fitness back all goes down the drain.

What medications are you currently taking? What do you mean by only being able to last a few minutes? Is it fatigue, weakness, hard to breathe, pain (where?), pounding sensation in chest etc? Just trying to understand what happens first and how it progresses. How much heavy lifting did you do? How heavy?

Usually when you've been out of the exercise game you have to start slow. If you go in where you left off you'll be extremely tired and put a lot of stress on your body and increase your risk of injury. Reduce the weight and amount of time you lift anything and try to do low impact cardio. Even if you have bad knees and can't even walk around there are many exercises people can do while sitting or laying down even. Focus on what you know you can do and start from there and work your way back up.

Yeah I' doing 2-5 mins on a mini cycle you sit in a chair and its a small stand with peals on it and an adjustable belt for resistance and thats all. I know all about starting slow I used to do bodybuilding before I got sick and even in the first few months after diagnosis

Just felt very foggy in the head short of breath I had to lift 4 bags of soil the weight of the soil was fine I just felt pooped after lifting them out of my car at home

I'm on tramadol and panadol osteo and thats it

Also taking fish oil tumeric ginger capsules and vitamin d and a multivitamin

Have you checked your Iron / B12 levels recently as it could be a sign of anaemia.

But apart from that, if you havent exercised for a long time it is very surprising how unfit you become. I was the same, I couldnt believe how out of shape I had become, but it shouldnt take too long to get back to a good level

Yeah fitness is hard for us crohns peeps. I try and work out very hard but only two times a week. I mix in yoga before I workout each part of my body then end with yoga. I run a bit also but I am quick to remember in the past that running long distances dont mix with me.

Are you planning on supplementing the iron? That might help. Mine was low too so I started taking 325mg/day. Retested a month later and it hadn't gone up. Now I take 650mg/day and its been in the normal range ever since.

Tramadol can cause weakness and dizziness etc so its possible you could be dealing with some side effects on top of the effects of a flare. Our bodies have to work extra hard when its trying to heal itself so adding on physical activity is a lot more taxing on the body than it usually would be.

Bodybuilding and endurance are two different things. Bodybuilders workout based apron 6-8 reps for purpose of hypotrophy isn't going to get you in shape. It would help a little bit, but is more so about keep the muscles full and breaking down secondary fiber tissues. So I'm assuming when you quit working out and became more sedatary, your endurance got even weaker. The good news is you can always get back in shape (or to your desired level of fitness). The biggest advice I can give you, is give yourself some slack when you don't feel well, and focus on getting better. Once you learn how to steer clear of flares as soon as they arrive, you can have more time to rebuild. But what you are feeling is normal after a flare unfortunately....
