Hi,I'm new here and looking for advice. After having some surgery for my Crohns disease over 6 months ago,I feel ok,sometimes dizzy though.I've been getting some blood tranfusions, and iron transfusions, yet my iron levels are still very low.I'm NOT taking iron pills now.--My Iron levels do not seem to go up that much at all. Any ideas as to what could be going on?My doctor wants to give me another colonoscopy even though I had one a few months ago.All answers and advice would be greatly appreciated.Thankyou,Ken.

Quick research suggests that copper and b2 are vital for iron use, and a deficiency in either can result in an iron deficiency. So I'd ask your doctor about those two specifically.

How much bowel was removed? I had 12 inch of small removed and also had low iron levels, Dr put me on Iron pills and I have not had it checked yet. If alot of bowel was removed maybe you could be suffering from short bowel syndrom?
