Absolutely agreed. The CDAI is too open to subjective feelings and variables, but it is probably preferred for approving substandard pharmaceuticals with little measurable longterm benefit.

For doctors to harp on about alternatives not being "scientifically proven", like enteric coated fish oil, quality probiotics, dietary additions/exclusions, and LDN, while the CDAI is used as a basis for many profitable/ineffective/toxic treatments just sends my BS meter off the scale.
 
Great point! I am not knowledgable regarding this, but I bet the alternative treatments have not been studied like a profitable prescription drug. If it doesn't hurt you, why not? I do believe I have to take prescriptions though, because it has been studied and Crohn's can lead to some pretty terrible results. It's confusing!!
