Hi From Maine,,,I have had crohns for 31 years now,I am 57 yrs old,,i was in remission up until last year. I went for a colonoscopy, which then lead me to a gastro,,,which then lead me to another colonoscopy, which lead me to a surgeon to have 18 lbs of my large intestine removed. Funniest thing was my fairly new primary doctor told me I didnt have crohns after the one colonoscopy.,,,so anyways,,,I went to see my primary doctor last week because I have been complaining to him for the last 2 1/2 yrs about this pain I have in my legs,,,if I stand too long and then sit,,I feel throbbing,,,then when I try to get up, I have stiffness and soreness in my legs and mostly in my ankles,,,no swelling though, so now my primary doctor (who said I didnt have crohns) is telling me to take celebrex for the pain. I am going to call my gastro doctor tomorrow to make sure that #1- I can take it with my sulfasalazine and #2- is it going to hurt my stomach. He tried about 5 months ago telling me to take Aleve or Ibprophen,,,and my gastro doctor highly was against it,,,so I have been dealing with this pain for quite some time,,,I;m sure everyone is different I just didnt want to end up back at the hospital if I didnt have too,,,can you tell I really dont trust my primary doctor very much,,,how sad is that?:(,,I also was wondering if anyone has applied for social security disability lately? I have had a lawyer since day one, (May, 2013) now just waiting for the appt. to go up against the judge. Social Security denied me twice,,,saying my weight was normal. Which it is,,,its the other things that go on with this "Invisible Disease" that they cant see .,,,getting frustrated,,,I know that!:ghug:,,,thanks in advanced

People with IBD are not supposed to take NSAIDs so yes I would contact your GI and discuss it with him.

Thanks Clash and noguts,,,,thats exactly what I thought,,but by husband says the doctor wouldn't prescribe something if he knew it would hurt me,,,right!, my primary dr. doesn't know "poop" about my crohn's,,,,I think sometimes he should open up a book,,,,Thank God for GI's,,,I called first thing this morning and they'll be getting back to me. Plus,,,I've been taking this stuff now for 4 days,,,and dont feel a difference with any of my pain,,I ask myself,,,then why am I taking it? I have a feeling last night was my last pill for this stuff...who knows? :eek2:,,,I love these forums,,,makes you feel you're not alone! Years ago when I first got my Crohns (age 25ish) I had never heard of it,,,I've learned alot over the years,,,and I've been though the worse parts of it too,,,everyone is definitely different. :ybatty:

Many doctors have no idea about crohns. I have been told to go on NSAIDS and steroids over the years and I was like um no to bleeding internally and no to destroying my bones more.

Hard to have a doctor to tell you that you are supposed to do exactly the oposite of what you should do. Maybe finding another doc is a good idea. I have problems with my shoulder and only NSAIDs can take care of that pain, but im not taking it, cause I dont want to make my CD worse. Good luck at the GI
