So alot of you know that I was in the hospital most of the week last week. Well Tuesday of this week, I woke up and the left side of my face was swolen up HUGE. It looked like I had a golfball in my cheek. This same kind of swelling started under my eye from my nose over to my cheek bone. It extended down to my chin.
So I called my Dr. and they told me to go to the ER. After all of their tests they decided that I had Cellulitis, wich is a tissue infection. I asked how I may have gotten it and the Doc says the incubation time is 6-7 days. Did I do anything unusual during that time? I told her that I was a patient in the hospital during that time. She actually laughed and told me that I should make sure my nurses washed their hands better. I was the 4th case she had seen with the same story that week.

I've had that too, on my face. Intravenous antibiotics were the only thing that got rid of it - it's usually a staph infection.

I'm appalled that the doc would laugh at such a serious situation. It seems she would have some sort of obligation to report this to the hospital. This could turn into a health crisis. Cellulitis is no joke. It could be life threatening.
