Hey everyone, I have an issue where certain foods feel stuck in my "stomach area". It started about 1 year ago...I was drinking ultrameal shakes and they were working well for me. One day, I drank one and it felt stuck in my "stomach area". Since then, any type of meal shake, protein shake, or smoothie gets 'stuck". Since this occurred more and more foods/drinks that I use to eat normally have been producing this "stuck feeling"; for example, milk, cheese, tomato sauce (sometimes I feel the spices in my stomach) , beef broth, protein bars, cookies (any type), water, almond milk, soy milk, cereal, and 99% of teas. However, the "stuck feeling" occurs almost immediately after I consume any of these foods/drinks, and I feel full in the stomach area. If I get this "stomach stuck feeling" it last for anywhere from 1 hour to 72 hours. Also, ...lets say I eat cookies and they feel stuck.. I could go eat a piece of bread and it feels like it just passes by with no problem (almost as if my stomach lets the bread go through but not the cookies). I haven't been directly tested for gastroparesis, but i did have a barium drink and xrays and nothing was in my stomach (however I didn't get the stuck feeling when I drank the barium). Anyone have any ideas.. or lead way...because my GI doctor isn't certain. ... (oh yea . btw. when the "stuck" feeling starts to move through I get bad cramps and diarrhea).
