Hello all!

So I started Humira as I mentioned, I don't feel amazing as of yet but my ulceration & Pyoderma are almost almost gone which is a plus, whether this was the Flucoxocillin or the Humira, I don't know!

My joints have gotten really really awful lately, I read Humira can help this but can also make it WORSE?!

Side note: while in hospital having Venofer (IV Iron), my cannula tissued leaving quite an aggressive swelling in my arm that was of course a weird colour because Venofer is! Anyway, almost three weeks on, there's still discoloration, like a bruise but not sore, i wonder if anyone else has had this & whether or not the dye will eventually disperse?

Anyhow, the main point of this post is today is my first fasting day on the 5:2 diet. Something I want to do to get back down to a healthier weight as not working/pred/comfort eating means I have put on a bit.
I've heard it's also meant to do wonder for Crohn's alongside the weight loss so just wanna hear any success stories or tips really :)

I,m trying this diet only been doing it a couple of weeks.i,m a tubby and bucket loads of tablets don,t help much.just remember on fasting days you still eat I,ve been having fish(usually smoked),which only needs reheated in water tastes great really healthy also trout which is a freebie for me(fly fishing).
Your joint pain should get better, takes time,I,ve been a gym member for a long time exercise has been helping a lot but be carefull at the start, forget that rubbish no pain no gain if it hurts stop and get advice and the other thing to try and be is patient it does eventually get better.good luck

Hi!

I've been on the 5:2 diet for about ten weeks now. I'm doing it to lose weight, and I have lost about half a stone so I'm really chuffed. It has not made any difference to any of my Crohn's symptoms specifically, although I do go to the toilet a bit less often - though I am attributing this to the fact that there is less physical matter being put into my digestive system and so obviously there will be less to come out of the other end!

Good luck!
