Thinking of attending an upcoming crohns and colitis parent/child session at CHOP. some of chops top IBD doctors will be there. Has anybody ever gone to these before?

Any questions you want me to ask of I go? I can report back!

Cool! When is it? Is it open to non patients? I am in the Philly area often visiting family. Perhaps I could kill two birds.....

We have gone to that locally from CCFA.
Very informative but not necessarlily new information.
We enjoyed it just from the meeting other parents sorta thing
I know ours doesn't require them to be a patient but you are required to register

We went last year to the CHOP session (M is technically a patient there because we went there for a second opinion). I didn't realize it was open to non-patients, but anyway, it was great! Really liked the slideshows and presentations. Lots of info on Enteral Nutrition, which I didn't know before. There was some info about drugs in the pipeline which I always find interesting (particularly since my girls have been on most things already).

It's on Sunday feb. 8th from 9am until 1pm. Says it's free and no registration required. It does not say that you need to be a patient...

There were a LOT of people there, so that makes sense. I remember being surprised at how many families there were.
It really was great and informative. There's a panel at the end where some kids and teenagers talk about their experiences.
