chrohn's
I am hoping that I am on the right page, this is my story.
I am 38 years old and have suffered crohn's since 1998. at the time of diagnosis I was became very very sick while I was studying to become a doctor, but go so sick that when I started my internship I could hardly function. in the end I was unable to finish my degree. I had never heard of crohn's before but after several tests it was confirmed, I struggled with coming to terms with this disease and had no understanding about it. I had my first resection in 2001, after Prednisone was not working for me and needed surgery. for the next 5years I was in and out of hospital in NZ and spent most of my time in Auckland hospital, it there that I had my first colonoscopy, and other tests, two weeks later I had to major surgery, I was very lucky to try inflexilab. when it first came out but to no avail I struggled and struggled over time I went on many drugs available for crohn's disease and boy I had horrible side affects to a lot of the drugs that they use for immune suppressive dissorders. in the last 10 years I lost count of how may surgeries I had but it worked out about 2 a year and and still struggled to find a drug that would help me get on with my life. I have had approx 8 surgeries and have around 50 cm of by large and small bowel diseased and hospitals felt like been in prison, when Humeria came out on the marked 4 years ago and since then I have had some relief even got to a stage where I was in remission it such a great feeling still had severe stomach cramps but dealt with better than in the past I hated having a stomach that looked like I was always pregnant all swollen up. after 10 years I tried Humira and it works really well, I am all so married and have great support and this is really helped me so much, and I now do a lot research on my disease so Hopefully I can help others, every body has different responses to meds some people steriod an immumne suppressive drugs work really well but for me nothing worked. Until I tried Humira and know we are in a new year and i am feeling so much better. but opperations were very hard sometimes I wanted to give up but I won't give up know I use to get sick of thowing up and having constant pain and going all the time to the toilet its taken 10 years to find a drug personally works for me and I know difficult life gets especially when I control it the disease was controlling me, and going to hospital lot was just awefull, I have a great specialist now who fights for me and I am lucky to have trialed humira when it first became a available now I seem to have a great response to and I doing so much better life does get better if we had pain it would be easier. I cannot eat any more and this has been the hardest challenge but if I eat my stomach does not process so the pain becomes extreme I have special tube, and I have special food called vivonex 10 my body doesn't have to process it and it seems to helping my nutritional needs I have studies crohns disease have great understanding about this disease any questions you have I am will to help and educate you on this disease if you need some one to talk to I have been trying to but my self on new stories but couldn't understand it later on I will add a picture of me hope the new is a good one for all people that are suffering all around the world take care love doms
