Chronic folliculitis as a precursor to crohn's?

I've seen some posts on here concerning folliculitis as a reaction to treatment but has anyone started out with folliculitis before they were even diagnosed with crohn's?

This is one of the symptoms I had for months before anything really started to happen on the crohn's front (i.e. I felt healthy, had no real issues other than itchy legs). It was located primarily on legs and dermatologist assumed it was due to the fact that I was training for a triathlon so spent a lot of time sweating in spandex. I also would end up taking 2 showers a day many days due to exercising so much which she felt might be aggravating the situation. She gave me a topical cream that helped but never completely resolved the issue. Changing my diet also seemed to help but again, never really went away completely. Started remicade a few weeks ago and it seemed to help but I got a flare up of the rash on my legs a couple of days ago.

Is this common with Crohn's and how do you manage it?

Hi. I had folliculitis as a result of treatment. The dermatologist tried antibiotics and they didn't work. Mine was located in my scalp. Mine had to be removed surgically. I wish you the best. Keep us updated.
