Colon no longer

Hi all, I'm new to this forum. I've had Crohns of the large intestine for 18 years. Last year I had the colon removed and - fingers crossed - the result has been much relief. For the first time in many years I'm not taking multiple meds, and my life is much better. Happy to share my experience with others who have a similar condition and like myself have run out of options.

So glad to hear that things are going well and I hope and pray they will stay that way. If you feel at some time you would like tell us about what has happened over the last 18 years we would be grateful to have some insight into your journey. Welcome and please help us understand and learn from your experiences. I would love some pain relief even though the thought of surgery is scary! Anyway, we will pray for you and hope you stick around as most have said!

Welcome Van! I, too, have had CD of the large intestine...for about 24 years, so a few more than you but, meh, what's a year or two with this danged disease?!?! lol!

Glad to hear you are happy with your surgery! I am expecting to go for a loop colostomy in the near future...I only have about 4 inches of good colon left, and they'd like to keep it that way as long as possible...but I am having a minor issue right now with some nasty fistulas that won't respond to meds, so they want to try the temp colostomy first before they remove it all....

Either way...glad to have you around to bounce ideas off of any swap poo stories with!! Welcome!!
