I'm a bit confused as last week I had to do a stool sample and I don't what the result are but my doctor goes if there is anything then he is going to request that I have a colonoscopy done, so I got a letter through today and it says colonoscopy and upper GI endoscopy :eek2: both at the same time, I've had a colonoscopy before and an endoscopy but not at the same time though :(, it is only a day case though phew :)

I'm also being put back on steriods :( Not very happy about that :( I thought everything was going ok but apparently not hmmmm :(

Anyone have any advice or tips??
Thanks HorseLover!! :)

It is not uncommon to have them done at the same time. I suspect they will do the endoscopy first, at least the drugs will be good! There must be signs of inflammation but at least your GI is on top of things.

I have told them to put me under general otherwise I panic and last time I wouldn't let them come anywhere near me with the scope unless the put me under :( last time I bit the persons hand because I hate the feeling of it when they start putting it up my nose :(. so after that they have started to listen to me and put under general :)

I had a colonoscopy and gastroscopy at the same time. Thank god other wise i dont know what i would of done being awake for the gastrsocopy :/
What i hated the most was having go drink the drink they give you for the colonoscopy. That was horrible. I ended up throwing up my first 3 galsses and then i onky drank half of the 1 litre becsuse i couldnt tske it anymore. Lucky they didnt realize because i was in hospital whilst taking the stuff so i just fell asleep :p

I have had both at the same time, it's good to get them both over at the same time (only 1 prep covers both) so that is a big positive! I'm currently on steroids also, not the best but I know the inflammation issues are helping but still working on other issues/meds.

Good luck to you!!! :ghug:
