I get to have another colonoscopy next week. Went to my current dr today and he finally got the records from my previous gi. He had done a colonoscopy, took a few biopsies, and looked at the terminal ilium. He did not bother to biopsy the terminal ilium! Yep, a patient who doesn't absorb b12 or vitamin d and he did not biopsy the terminal ilium, so now we get to do it again. My dr did say today that he doesn't think I have ibs and he is actively looking for crohns. He also said that if the biopsy doesn't show anything I will next have a gi series with barium to make sure there's no obstruction or narrowing, and if that's clear it will be followed by a pill cam. It is so good to have a dr who's listening to me! Hopefully I will have answers soon!

Hello Jackie
That is just awful for you with that negligent GI.
Good that you now have a very caring doctor and hope everything goes well for you in the upcoming colonoscopy.
Feel better
Hugs and best wishes

I feel like I do have a great dr now! Unfortunately I know it can take a lot to find one. I got lucky that my ob/gyn recommended him. I've found in the past the best way to find a good dr is to ask one of your other doctors (not the one referring you) who they would go to in the speciality you are seeking.

Jackie, a GI once told me that many GIs are like dermatologists, if they don't see a problem, they don't do a biopsy, when with Crohn's, that isn't the case. Sometimes they won't see a problem unless they do random biopsies during a scope. I'm glad you have a good doctor. They can be worth their weight in gold.
