I haven't had a colonoscopy since I was very young and can barely remember it. I'm set to have one Monday and am very nervous, mostly about the prep. I have been unofficially diagnosed with Crohn's. I'm taking the OsmoPrep, which is 32 pills, and I'm only 96 pounds (24 years, 5'6). I really don't want to be sick all night from the pills the night before my procedure. Is it okay to take Phenergan or Zofran? I forgot to ask about these specific medicines and now it's the weekend. Any advice or personal experiences?

Did they prescribe you Osmoprep because you told them you wouldn't be able to tolerate a liquid prep? I was told they didn't prescribe that anymore unless they had to, because it can cause kidney damage. Please make sure you drink the recommended amount of liquid to help prevent this from happening.

Others on the forum have told me it's fine (good) to take Zofran at least. I don't think it would interfere with the prep at all.

Good luck with the prep! I just did it two days ago. It's no fun. I hope it goes well for you and isn't too awful. Welcome to the forum, let us know how your scope goes.

Thanks for your help. I think I'm just scared because I don't know what to expect. Plus I've only met my doctor once and he wasn't very friendly.. Oh well, guess I'll have to suck it up. I've had two C-sections. This has to be easier than those were!

Hopefully! I hope it goes well. Sorry your doctor wasn't so friendly, but I've found poor bedside manner but knowledgeable is far preferable to someone super friendly who has no idea what they're talking about. Good luck!
