Very nervous as it is my first one.

Got to start drinking the prep at 5pm - urgh - I bet it tastes awful! :frown:

Not looking forward to any of this! Hopefully it will give some answers so I can get back to feeling better again!

Good luck for tomorrow, I had mine 3 weeks ago & I wasnt that keen on the taste.........although i did read the small print on the instructions that came with the prep that you can add lemon cordial for taste but i was 3 quarters of the way through by then:facepalm:

No, no, not vodka, got to be gin ;)
Best of luck Gemma, it'll soon be over and hopefully give you some answers.

I had my first one on Monday and I will be honest, the prep was the worst part for me! I struggled with it and would definitely recommend adding cordial and ice. I managed just under 1.5 litres altogether and threw the rest up, but it definitely worked and my discharge paper work stated my prep was good so that was a relief!
I would say, if they offer you sedation take it, and don't get up too quickly in recovery, I made that mistake and ended up passing out in the waiting room while waiting for my discharge to be done haha! The nurses were all lovely though and because of the location of the screen I got to see which I found really interesting. Good luck!

I agree with Sarah. It's fear of the unknown that's the worst.Use a drinking straw if you've got any,and baby wipes and nappy/Vaseline/sudocreme after loo visits,as your rear end will get sore. All the best.

Oh yes definitely a straw and wipes instead of toilet roll too! I wore a pad to go to the hospital too, mostly as a precaution though

Apparently blackcurrant cordial is good at disguising the taste. I have never used a straw as I always convince myself it will take longer to drink, but am obviously wrong.

Good luck, I hope you are working your way through the prep. I wish they would all use picolax as it is a much smaller volume, tastes 'better' and works well.

I hope you get some answers, let us know.

I don't use a straw either, or chill it. I like to gulp it down as quickly as possible rather than suck it through a straw. And I don't like chilled drinks at all, they give me a headache. So I don't think you're wrong littlemiss, we all do it the way that suits us best :)
