I was going to place this on the Remicade club thread, but this applies to anyone on Immunosuppressants. So here I sit trying to type in between coughing and sneezing fits, watery eyes, and the drum beat in my head. What started out as basic congestion has turned into full blown Bronchitis. Now being on Remicade and previously Azathioprine, I am aware of the effects on my Immune system. I didn't mess around and went to my primary physician on Tuesday who put me on Augmentin and an Albuterol Sulfate inhaler. Should I be feeling some relief three days in because I have to say that my symptoms seem to be getting worse. I'm very concerned that if I don't improve soon I will be checking into the hospital with pneumonia. I'm planning to reach out to my primary physician again if I don't improve by EOD tomorrow. Should I let my Gastroenterologist know that I am struggling or should I just deal with my primary physician ? My primary is aware that I am on Remicade and even recognized that it was wise to come in as soon as I did since my immune system is compromised, so he gets it, but would my gastro have more experience with what works best with those on immunosuppressants ? I'd be interested to hear what meds have worked for those in similar situations as well as any recommendations on my next move.
Thank you......Kevin
