Earlier this year, I had a colonoscopy. I was told at the time that the Crohn's Disease had spread to my colon. Today, I saw a specialist who said he saw no evidence of that from the biopsies? "

I'm sorry Ron, I have no idea. If it helps any, last year 2013 I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Proctitis. This year, I had my colonoscopy and there was no mention of the Ulcerative Proctitis. All that was mentioned was Ulcerative Colitis and IBD. But, there was no inflammation even with biopsies.

Only thing I can think of is maybe they didn't find any inflammation from the biopsies on you?

I don't know either, but it is possible to be moved to the colon. When I had my surgery the doc had to remove 6 inches of my colon because he found the Crohn's had moved into the area. The last colonoscopy before my surgery - no report of disease in the colon.

Crohn's disease can, "skip" areas of the intestines. If the biopsies were taken from areas that were not affected by active disease, then it's possible for them to be negative yet still have active disease in the colon. Or maybe they were seeing signs of inflammation but they weren't do to Crohn's disease. For example, just the colonoscopy prep can cause inflammation. It's hard to say :(
