Hi. I am soon to begin Remicade and was wondering if it helps alleviate constipation? I rarely have diarrhea, but stay constipated! I've been reading that a lot of Crohn's patients do suffer with constipation and have to take laxatives. I'm hoping against hope that the Remicade will help with the constipation, as well as other things such as fatigue. Thanks.:rosette1:

Hi Sugarberry
It does seem some crohn's patients do get constipation.
It can be so uncomfortable but your GI should be able to help with this.
Remicade works very well for some people and can be quite fast to alleviate symptoms,so hopefully you may find an improvement.
Hard to say since crohn's patients can differ so much with symptoms.
Feel better soon
Hugs and best wishes

I was on Remicade for 7 years and I have trouble with constipation. I have to say I don't remember the constipation being a problem while on Remicade. I do remember for a few days after the infusion things seemed to slow down a bit. My doctor told to be sure to take in a lot of fluids and that seemed to help. Are you on prednisone? That also caused a big problem for me with constipation.
