Recently diagnosed and worried. Had a colonoscopy this past Thursday, diagnosed Friday. Have it in my small intestine and colon, small abscess and structure in small intestine also. After procedure they told me that it would be a few days prob before bowel movement, however I was still having diarrheah same day. I had been having D about every day multiple times. Till about three days ago. Started cramping, bloating, lots of gas ( can feel the bubbles!), pains. Really uncomfy. Was having tiny bowel movements when first started happening, then starting yesterday, nothing. Is worse after eating. Worried it's blockage? Or unlikely since I JUST had colonoscopy? I just wanna go! Ugh. I'm on a lot of meds that can cause constipation. Iron, lots of Vit D, Seizure meds and an occasion Hydroconone. If it is constipation should I take any gentle laxatives or anything? Tried Miralax last two days, no BM, but lots of gas. How long do you go without using it before you call dr? Thanks guys!

You may be still be having some effects from your colonoscopy? I can't remember how long it took for my bowel to feel normal again but it was a few days I think as they do pump you full of gas!! Also you are completely cleaned out I think give it a few more days. I'd call my doctor in your situation after a few more days or if I became in extreme pain.

No I haven't tried Milk of Mag yet. I will! Thanks guys! If not better in few days I'll call. Just tired of the pain, bloating and gas :(

Just used the bathroom! Not a lot, but I was happy. I figured no body except those who understand how sucky it is would understand why I'm excited. Haha.

If you had even a partial blockage, you would know. The pain is very bad and comes in crampy waves. Vomiting and fever can also occur. Usually, as long as you're passing gas and your bowel sounds continue, you're not blocked up.

Thank you for that information, it's very useful to me too, as I worry about blockages whenever I get constipated and so it's reassuring to know what the actual symptoms are.
