constipation.

Hello,

I am sorry for the bother, but I have a small question.
Unlike most Crohn patients, I don't have diarrhea thank goodness, but I do have trouble with constipation. Is there anything that can help ease stool to come out or speed up metabolism somehow?
I have many days when nothing comes out, just blood and infected like mucus. My doctor recommended eating oranges, drinking 100% tomato and orange juice, not to eat bananas, and such similarities, also to eat less and five/six times a day which I do, but still I have days when just nothing works. Is there anything that can help?I am not allowed to take any miracle pills or drink any special teas; thanks to an "oolong tea," I have had serious diarrhea for six months non-stop, which was only cured by an injection I have to get every other week to prevent the diarrhea from returning.
Otherwise I usually try eating jam with warm milk, eat oranges, take a spoonful of olive oil, drink milk coffee, and other such tactics for stool. I don't know anymore, nothing is really working for me lately.
Thank you!<3

kisses, Aya

Is the constipation from big hard stool, or is it because you are so inflamed it cant come out? Those are 2 different causes and require different treatments.

I have heard psyllium fiber husks being helpful for some crohnies.

Oh, its not from being inflamed, because I do have stool usually, its just there are many days I do not have stool. After not having, usually after three days or so I have a load come out. Usually I have soft, but big amounts if I have stool.
Thank you for trying to help!<3

Oh gosh constipation... I get it terrible, I can go weeks without passing anything.

One thing I would say hun, you clearly suffer from chronic constipation, which isn't just a one off, so it would be best to avoid stimulation laxatives like Dulca Lax, Syrup Of Figs and Sennacot. These will just make your bowel lazy, and in the long term will make the constipation worse.

Things which I've found effective in the past have been:

Epsom Salts: 2-4 teaspoons in warm water
Movicol
Glycerin Suppositories

I personally like to avoid taking anything orally, I just don't like it, so if I can find a natural treatment I'll always go for it. There is one treatment that worked a miracle on me, when I was really really bad. I hadn't been to the loo in about 3 weeks and I looked pregnant I was so bloated, it was awful. Out of sheer desperation I went for a

"Lymphatic Massage"

Wow. Miracle cure! I recommend this to anyone and everyone. It shifted 3 weeks worth of stools within just a few hours. :lol2:

The only downside of the lymph massage is that they are pretty expensive, and its best to have them fairly regularly to continue to reap the benefits.

Big Hugs chick, I really hope this helps!

Thank you so much for the advise, I will try to see if they have such a massage here, and will definitely try the salt. There is one laxative my doctor recommended in case of emergency so I do not end up having weeks of no stool, its called Laevolac, it really does help. I recommend it. Plus it is good for Crohn patients. :)
My goodness!Three weeks?!:O I cannot imagine how horrible that could have been!I am so sorry!*hugs*
Thank you so much once again, you are very kind!!<3<3<3

kisses and much love, Aya

I always take lactulose. It's handy because it's a liquid so you can adjust how much you take depending on how you react to it. It's also safe to take long term.
