consultant visit

Hi, i went to see a gi consultant today, he gave me a rigid sigmoidoscope exam and he thinks that i have irritable bowels and i have to have a colonoscopy hopefully in 2 weeks time to find out more.

Hey Mick

That's great that your doc is going to do more tests to determine what might be going on. Hopefully, the colonoscopy gives you some definitive answers so you can figure out what meds to use to get your symptoms under control.

As you may well know, the colon is not the only part where IBD can occur, Crohn's can occur from mouth to anus so you need something for the small bowel too, like a Barium follow through.

Don't let yourself be fobbed off with a dx of IBS after one test, that is not nearly enough. Also be prepared as it's possible your colonoscopy will come back normal.
