Hello! I got Crohn's after getting c-difficile from antibiotics prescribed for a root canal that was not properly disinfected. Prescribed Clindamycin for the botched root canal. I had to have surgery for the infection that spread from the root canal to my cheek bone. Nice. Prescribed another round of Clindamycin. Then I got c-diff from the Clindamycin. I was prescribed Flagyl a rough antibiotic for the c-diff.When that did not work I was prescribed Vancomycin even worse. It was very scary and I almost died. In hospital 3 times. Then came Crohn's.
The reason I am sharing this is because I heard on NPR last week that Crohn's can be caused by a serious bacterial infection like c-diff. Which is apparently what happened to me. Has anyone else had a similar experience of getting Crohn's after a deep bacterial disease?
